Italian hospitality, at home in Bergen.
Trattoria Basar is an Italian trattoria inside Kjøttbasaren in central Bergen. We roll fresh pasta, prove our pizza dough slowly, grill meat and fish, and choose ingredients by season.
A trattoria is as much about atmosphere as it is about food. High ceilings, no formality, long meals — snacks for aperitivo, several dishes in the middle of the table and a bottle that fits.
We are steps from Bryggen and the Fish Market, in one of the city's most beautiful rooms, built in 1877.
The entrance

Kjøttbasaren's arched stone portal and high ceilings have housed food and trade for more than 140 years. Today we fill the room with the scent of fresh pasta, the sound of wine glasses and long tables of guests.
Ingredients
Italian classics meet Norwegian fish, meat and seasonal vegetables.

Pasta rolled in house, dough given time, sauces cooked properly.

A list built on producers we know and bottles that suit the food.
