You can see the wooden facades of Bryggen from our windows. Walk across Vetrlidsallmenningen and you are inside Kjøttbasaren, Bergen's covered market hall from 1877 — and at our table.
Bryggen, the Fløibanen funicular and the Fish Market are all within a few minutes on foot, which makes us an easy stop between sightseeing and dinner.
We are a trattoria, not a tourist canteen: short menu, fresh pasta rolled in house, a wood-fired grill and Italian wine poured by people who know the producers.

Booking is safest in summer, but we always try to find a table.
What to expect
Start with a few small plates in the middle of the table — focaccia, croquettes, cured fish — then share pasta, pizza or something from the grill.
Portions are made for sharing. Tell us how hungry you are and we will pace the food for you.
Getting here
Vetrlidsallmenningen 2, 5014 Bergen. Enter through the arched doors of Kjøttbasaren; we are on the ground floor.
Bus stops and the Bybanen light rail terminate a short walk away at Byparken and Bryggen.
Cruise days and busy evenings
When ships are in port, the area fills up early. Booking a table online takes a minute and saves you the queue.
For groups of six or more we recommend reserving ahead so we can seat you together.
